Information to Authors
General information
Please submit your manuscript online (see online submission in the left
column).
The file should be prepared using MS Word. All text (title page, abstract,
body, figures, tables and references) should be submitted as one document.
Each manuscript must be accompanied by a signed statement that the research
is original and the information has not been reported in large part in
a published article or contained in another paper that has been submitted
or accepted for publication in print or electronic media.
All parts of the manuscript should be typewritten, double-spaced, with
margins of at least one inch on all sides. Number manuscript pages consecutively
throughout the paper at the bottom right corner of the page. Authors should
also supply a shortened version of the title suitable for the running
head, not exceeding 50 character spaces. Authors must give from three
to ten key words that identify the most important subjects covered by
the paper.
On the title page, include full names of authors, academic and/or other
professional affiliations, the complete mailing address and e-mail address
of the author to whom proofs and correspondence should be sent.
Abstract
Each paper requires a structured abstract of not more than 150 words summarizing
the significant information and findings. To structure the abstract, use
the same terms used to break the text into sections. Avoid abbreviations,
diagrams, and references in the abstract.
Text
The body of the text should be divided into the following sections: Introduction,
Materials and Methods, Results, and Discussion.
References
All references should appear at the end of the article in alphabetical
order. Be sure to cite all references in the text. Include only references
that are actually cited in the text. Examples of the Journal's style are
listed below.
Book Chapter: Goadsby PJ. Pathophysiology of headache. In: Wolff's headache and other head pain.
Silberstein SD, Lipton RB, Dalessio DJ, eds. 7th ed. Oxford, England, Oxford University Press, 2001, pp 57-72.
Journal Article: Bullard RD, Wright BH. The quest for environmental
equity: Mobilizing the African-American community for social change. Soc
Nat Res. 1990; 3: 301-11. List all authors; do not use et al.
Personal Communications: Reference to personal communications
should be avoided, but when necessary, include the person's name, his
or her title, and date. Personal Communications should be cited in the
text in parentheses but not included in the References list. Example:
(Misbahuddin M, personal communication, October 12, 2004). A letter granting
permission to publish the personal communication from the person providing
the information must be included at the time of submission.
Websites: Authors' names (in normal order), document title, date of Internet
publication, and other retrieval information (date of access).

inves_tobacco/index_accord.htm.)
Acknowledgement
Acknowledgement, if any, should be placed at the end of the body of the
text and be limited to no more than 50 words. This section may be used
to acknowledge the help of those who do not qualify for authorship or
to acknowledge funding, donated resources, or significant material contributions
to the research. In order for this section to be included, the lead author
must submit a written statement that the subjects whom he or she intends
to acknowledge have been notified of the intent.
Illustrations
Illustrations submitted (line drawings, halftones, photos, photomicrographs,
etc.) should be clean originals or digital files. Digital files are recommended
for highest quality reproduction and should follow these guidelines:

double-spaced, on a separate sheet. All original figures should be clearly
