| On behalf of the Bangladesh society of Anesthesiologists let me congratulate our pharmacologists on the occasion of their launching ceremony of Bangladesh Pharmacological Society. Anesthesiologists are clinical pharmacologists. No other specialty deals with drugs with heir own hands. We are very much dependent on pharmacologists to guide us with safe drugs. We hope with the formation Bangladesh Pharmacological society, our pharmacologists will give us safer and good drugs suitable for our society. M. Khalilur Rahman (President, Bangladesh Society of Anesthesiologist)
I'd like to express 'what an honor it is to be a part of this great society'! I wish, the volunteer efforts of many members combined with expert management, soon make it one of the largest and prestigious professional scientific society of this country. I see many exciting opportunities in the coming year to enhance the scope, effectiveness, and stature of this society by exploring these possibilities and implementing those that prove to be promising, I hope we will enrich the value of the Bangladesh Pharmacological Society. S.M. Anisur Rahman (President, Bangladesh Society of Radiation Oncology)
It is indeed a great pleasure for me to know that the pharmacologists of Bangladesh have decided to launch a forum named "Bangladesh Pharmacological Society" (BDPS). The purpose of this organization is aimed at to establish link with other sister organizations. Furthermore, this will open an avenue to look at the mutual interest and exchange of professional knowledge at home and abroad. I wish and pray for success of this noble venture. Mobin Khan (President, Association for the Study of the Liver, Dhaka, Bangladesh)
It is my great pleasure to know that, the pharmacologists of the country have decided to form the Bangladesh Pharmacological Society. Medicine is one of the most important components of medical science for management of patients. Choosing a suitable medicine based upon the disease diagnosed and the individual patient is an art for a physician. The best the physician learns the art through pharmacology, the best is the drug management done by him for a patient. Pharmacology can also helps in finding cheap and cost effective medicines for in general patients of the country and formulating an update drug policy. Bangladesh Pharmacological Society can help in uplifting the subject through adoption of interesting and effective teaching approach, creating awareness for rational use of drug, conducting research activities in this area and arranging workshops and seminar for disseminating those. Md. Ruhul Amin Miah (Secretary, Bangladesh Society of Medical Microbiologists)
I am delighted to know that a 'launching ceremony' is being organized on 27th April, 2007 to install executive council of Bangladesh Pharmacological Society. Pharmacological treatment is the key issue in the management of diseases in all branches of medical science. Patients do not always report to the proper department for their specific problems. There is frequent need of referral and liaison services in the patient management. Every doctor may be involved any time in the preliminary management of any patient. Better knowledge and promotion of better understanding and link among doctors of all specialties are of paramount importance to face the challenging issue of patient treatment. Psychopharmacology is among the principal domains of pharmacology. Psychiatrists will be happy to share areas of common interest with other colleagues through Bangladesh Pharmacological Society. A.H. Mohammad Firoz (General Secretary, Bangladesh Association of Psychiatrists)
The Bangladesh Physiological and Pharmacological Society were formed 30-40 years from now by the Physiologists, Biochemists and Pharmacologists of those days. It aspired to further the cause of these disciplines with the spirit of line. Now a days, independent Societies of Physiologists, Biochemists and Pharmacologists have now been constituted and large number of young scientists are active and working in each discipline. But the old enthusiasm, cordiality and zeal are missing. It is true, the Bangladesh Physiological and Pharmacological Society has remained defunct and is not playing its role in furthering scientific activities cementing ties of friendship among members. It would be heartening to see the revival of the spirit of working together for a common goal. Azizur Rahman (President, Bangladesh Physiological and Pharmacological Society)
I am happy to know that Bangladesh Pharmacological Society (BDPS) is going to publish a souvenir on the Installation day of your society on 27th April, 2007 I wish every success of Bangladesh Pharmacological Society. Our Socity (OSB) will extend all help and cooperation to your society whenever needed. Syed Modasser Ali (President, Ophthalmological Society of Bangladesh)
Many thanks for inviting me to the launching ceremony of the Bangladesh Pharmacological Society and asking me to write a message for this occasion. I congratulate you for taking this initiative for the development of pharmacological studies and farther enhancement of this branch of medicine. It is high time that this needed to be done not only to develop research and fellowship amongst Pharmacologists themselves but also to disseminate knowledge among other of the medical profession and create public awareness of pharmacological issues. Development of any subject, speciality or service gets impetus when the task is shared by a society or association of committed professionals with diverse talents, rather than if the onus falls on one or two individuals. I welcome and took forward to the progress of this initiative. Rashiduddin Ahmad (President, Bangladesh Society of Neurosurgery)
